It may look like I’m walking in the Rotterdam Zoo, but nothing could be further from the truth; that red deer is chewing on the grass of the vast, picturesque Zuiderpark, where you can enjoy the multicultural, energetic vibe and the extremely surprising range of wildlife. The Noordereiland is inspirational with its industrial Hef Bridge, but also because of the unmistakable contrast between the authentic buildings on the quay and the ultra-modern Erasmus Bridge that rises above it. My personal favourite; the metro ride from Wilhelminaplein to Rijnhaven on the way home. I love the moment when you pop out of the ground in the metro and have the ultimate view of the skyline. I’m a little obsessed, I have an Instagram page with photos of the same view, but slightly different each time. When I see this view, I know; this is the place for me!
