Where can I find examples of Rotterdam's architectural history in a single street?

Standing on the Coolsingel with your back to the fountain, you will find yourself facing an impressive promenade. It is beyond imagination that this was once one of the most destitute city quarters where cholera was rife, but what you do see is a progression of architectural styles from the 1920s to the 1950s. It starts with the PostRotterdam building (20s) and then the Beursgebouw (30s), followed by the Holbeinhuis and the ABN building (40s).

Room for mobility was created in quite an elegant way on the generously laid-out boulevard, while liveability was taken into account at the same time. This is yet another example of how Rotterdam – not shying away from adopting a rigorous yet different approach – led the way in early metropolitan renewal in the Netherlands.

Are the suburbs also representative of Rotterdam's architectural boldness?
